hi gang Daughter in college is making noises about new 'puter. Her existing Dell is a PII-400 <creak, groan>.
She mentioned the "M" word <eek> - some of her classmates have Macs and love them. Not sure if she wants desktop or notebook. She thinks notebook, if not too much more $$. Did a little comparing, found that there isn't much difference in price between comparably-equipped Dells and Macs. I know almost nothing about Mac. Know there are a lot of things to not like about the Wintel environment, but have lived with them for years. Her applications are mostly Photoshop, Office, web/email, music (ripping cd's to her pocket MP3 player), some video editing. Oh, and The Sims (which has a Mac version now). Notebooks being considered are Dell Inspiron 8200 and Powerbook G4. Can get a 10% discount on Dell and any upgrades through work. Are there discounts on Apple? Any comments? TIA. (Hate to say it, but the Powerbook looks like a sweet machine!) -Ben ______________________________________________________________________ Signup for the Fusion Authority news alert and keep up with the latest news in ColdFusion and related topics. http://www.fusionauthority.com/signup.cfm Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/index.cfm?sidebar=lists
