I feel I can safely drive 100mph on the freeway. I'm a really, really good
driver. Mabye I even have training, and a slick sports car to boot. Don't
tell me I can't because most drivers can't. Should people with higher
performing cars be allowed to go faster? Better brakes, handling, etc.

I feel I can responsibly use many substances that are illegal while still
being a productive citizen and not robbing anyone. Don't tell me I can't
just because most people can't.

I could have driven safely at age 13, but had to wait until I was 16.

I could begin using alcohol responsibly when I was 18, why should I have to
wait until I'm 21? Point in fact, I was in Singapore during high school,
and the legal drinking age was 18. Never killed anyone, OD'ed on alcohol,
or anything else bad. As I have proven myself an exception to the law, can
I now ignore all others? I'm special, right?

Laws have to be applied to everyone to be effective. We can't decide we are
a special case. EVERYONE thinks they are better drivers than everyone else.

Should I be offended that I pay higher insurance rates because I'm a male?
