I can't believe we are having this conversation

In some schools a c+ might mean THIS and in some schools it might mean THAT.
It might mean you didn't study, it might mean you aren't smart, it might
mean that the class was taught visually and you learn better by hearing.  It
might mean the teacher/s hated you.

My mother stated grad school at a school where the classes were stupid -
Graduate level education classes in which they were supposed to be learning
educational theories and practical application so they could be great
teachers.  The tests were stupid - instead of any practical application they
asked for specific quotes from the text.  Thats just stupidity and my mother
did poorly, studying for a more appropriate test.  She failed - and that was
half her grade, seeing as they only had a midterm and final.

She changed schools to a school with a much better reputation (an ivy league
school) and started getting A's.  She didn't get any smarter.
