The D1 is what they really wanted, but they figured for the quantity and
required quality of what they typically shoot, the D100 would be more than
adaquate.  And just a wee bit cheaper.  :-)

We have acquired D1s for a couple of our client newspapers (I think the
Richmond Register is one) and so we got to play with them.  They are
seriously fly!
