Playing Ghost Recon right now (rented at Hollywood Video, splinter cell was
checked out) its pretty good, the AI is decent. Having some trouble with
squad tactics. Not granular enough. I like the idea of point and click
orders, and I think the interface for fireteam interaction is fairly good
but I don like that I can't do something like this:

Your three go here. (Set way point)
you Bravo 1 point this way (field of fire north)
you bravo 2 point this way (field or fire west)
you bravo 3 point this third way (field of fire east)

or You, alpha 2 with your sniper rifle go hide in that building over there
and stay put until you've killed everybody on the other side

or Alpha 1 with your SAW sit tight here and lay down suppression fire on
that piece of open ground between those buildings while the other folks in
your team maneuver into assault positions...

also the movement selections leave a lot to be desired (Advance, Advance at
all costs, Hold).

can't do this
Go to Waypoint 1 using travelling overwatch
hold until Alpha is in position
Go to waypoint 2 bounding overwatch
hold, etc.

There are some large expanses of ground in this game and those bad guys are
*realy* accurate when they shoot.!!

Don't think I'll buy it...close, but not close enough for me (in this case)

Could i be expecting too much?

will
