Hmm..well I've read all the great reviews...but I wonder if this style
of gameplay would appeal to me.

I'm not really one for having to replay a mission 20 times to complete
it and figure out just the right thing to do at just the right time in
order to progress in a game. Also....the moving around slowly and
sneaking all the time..ducking around corners etc. may just not be my
cup of tea.

Thief II for the PC was different, there was more than one way to solve
the missions, not to mention you could save the game absolutely
anywhere.

In keeping with silly "Console Laws" you cannot save anywhere in
Splintercell from what I've read. I keep wondering whether developers
and game designers are just stupid, or whether they enforce this
limitation to artificially lengthen playing time for their titles. So
that the marketing folks can say-"Over 60HOURS of gameplay!"...but what
they don't tell you is that 40 of those 60 hours would be spent
replaying the same sections over and over until you get it right.

So I don't know about Splinter Cell. I think I will pick up Moto GP
instead.

With racing games they are very replayable, and you just race.
Sure, there are licenses that you have to get which means you might have
to drive a track a few times, but I just think that in a game like
Splinter Cell this could be avoided by a good save anywhere system.

Anyways..that's my view. I hope to get it as a present since I want to
see it,but I don't want to buy it ^_^

Will,

How far have you gotten in this game? I am considering picking it up.
Every review I've read says it's the best xbox game yet.

What has your overall impression been?

Pc version of metal gear solid is coming out soon isn't it? Supposed to
be better than the previous ones.
