I'm pretty sure he died because a thin sliver of steel repeatedly
pierced his vital organs.

Police say Oake, 40, died in a struggle with one of the three men about
an hour after officers first entered the apartment.

One of the suspects managed to break free of police and grabbed a knife
in the kitchen. Father-of-three Oake, 40, died from stab wounds to his
chest and three colleagues were injured.
...

Maybe he died _because_ he didn't have a gun?

Just a thought,
Jerry Johnson
