Hate to beat this horse, but I just wanted to respond to one thing in the original editorial.
> The Bushies are riding high. Now 88 per cent of Americans > want the war, we are told. This 88% number IIRC comes from a poll immediately after the State of the Union. The poll only counted those who watched the SotU, and disregarded those who didn't. That means it didn't count people like me who are disgusted by the rhetoric and already knew the gist of what Bush was going to be saying and didn't really need to hear it from his lips. I also recall hearing that most of the people who tuned in to the SotU were conservative Republicans, just as Dems tuned in more for Clinton. So the 88% is even more tenuous as a proper reflection of the US attitude. Add to that the polls that come out almost daily with numbers like 45% support the war, or even as low as 30%, and the editorial becomes even more unbalanced. I don't know what the real numbers are, and I'm pretty damn sure that the pollsters don't either. -Kevin ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/index.cfm?forumid=5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/index.cfm?method=subscribe&forumid=5 Signup for the Fusion Authority news alert and keep up with the latest news in ColdFusion and related topics. http://www.fusionauthority.com/signup.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5
