there is no abnormal sound. My computer is fine, the drive was given to me to fix so its not in the same computer that it was in. Yes its an IBM Deathstar hard drive, but I don't believe its having a mechanical failure, just the partition is screwed. I already ran troubleshooter non destructive tests on it and everything checks out fine with the drive.
