Phillip;

All sympathy, man.

When my girlfriend left she tried to relocate the daughter to Michigan (we
lived in Maryland) and it was an enormous struggle to keep her from doing
so.

What is most important is what is best for the kids, and your wife's opinion
about what that means is not necessarily the right one. You have to look out
for them too, and there could be a lot of reasons for why this is happening.
Maybe they just don't like stepdad, and spending more time with him could
make the situation worse.

Take the kids, on your own, to see a child psychologist (and mention it to
no one). Many of them have a sliding scale payment system to fit your
budget. Get down to the root of the problem and make up your own mind, based
on solid evidence, what the real problem is. Then fight like hell.

Don't let her use the courts as a threat. She will hold that over you for
the rest of your life.

Thanks Larry.

I feel like she's using it as an excuse too. I just don't know the best way
to handle it. Ever since the divorce it has been a nightmare trying to work
out any issues we may have with the kids. She gets angry with me and then
threatens to take me to court over it. Ugh!

I feel like it will put more stress on the boys by spending less time with
me. She doesn't seem to think so.

I will get in touch with the school and see what they say. At least I might
be able to find out who, if any one, agreed with her on changing the custody
arrangement.

You know its crap like this that makes not want to get married again.
