That's weird. While I would assume they would be the same (otherwise breaking compatibility within their own product line), this essentially weakens the WEP strength.

Am currently using 128-bit encryption. It uses 26 hex digits (entered manually or generated from a passphrase) for 104 bits of the key, and 24 factory-set bits for the remainder of the key. The help screen isn't clear on whether these factory-set bits are the same for other units. One answer: buy the unit, try to set the key, see if the WiFi device connects, if not, return the unit! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/index.cfm?forumid=5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/index.cfm?method=subscribe&forumid=5 Signup for the Fusion Authority news alert and keep up with the latest news in ColdFusion and related topics. http://www.fusionauthority.com/signup.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5
