--I was omw to being a "nuke" in the Navy. Took all of the tests that got --me into the school etc, was about to ship off for BT and last minute --thoughts caught me and made me realize that the military life probably --wasn't for me. I regret it sometimes I guess. Seeing the world would --have been great. But I think times like you see in these movies, full of --heroes and excitement don't exist in quite the same way anymore. The --things my Dad went through and experienced (good and bad) in the --military, are a lot less likely now I think.
Jerry, I went to Nuke school. Well the first part anyway, I got booted before the prototype phase and I can tell you it was insane. First off, everyone is like 18 or nineteen. Then they put the school in Orlando, right next to where the women go to Navy bootcamp. So every weekend there are hundreds of just graduated women recruits ready to party. Yeah, I got alot of studying done. Out of the 30 or so guys I personally knew there, I only know ONE that made it all the way through. I dont know how much things have changed since then (this was like 16 years ago). I havent even talked about the school, it was very hard. Lots of work, lots of homework.
