Which I fear may be one of the reasons Bush is doing this. There are those in the Christian faith that believe in certain events as laid out in their book of Revelations. There are those same people who have been helping Jews move to Israel under the thought that when the Jews return to Israel, it'll be the start of the events mentioned above. One such event is war, strife, bloodshed, etc. I'm sure someone learned in this area from the Christian perspective will give specifics. For these Christians, arming the Arabs (represented as Gog and Magog) and paving the way for their next war with Israel is all rooted in faith. Yes, for some the above will sound like a fantasy story, but there are many who believe that the 'second coming' is rooted in these events and are willing to help make them happen. Bush has made his stance on religion very clear and the chances of him being in the above group are high.
