I dont want to get into a discussion of what religions ask you to do or not
to do what. If you follow their teachings then you are operating under their
influence at least to a certain extent.

I agree, most people are not forced to believe, but if you believe and
follow certain religions teachings and practices, then you are operating
under that religions influence or sway.
