I feel everyone's pain and then some :) I have had my 'first' name mistaken for names such as Rob, Don, Tom, Ted, and more often than you would believe, Scott (WTF?). I've also had my last name (Ashworth) mistaken as Ashton, Ashford (understandable), and Aster (again, WTF?). I know I don't pronounce my name in any funky way. I guess People just hear what they are more used to. Usually, when I repeat myself, people get it right. Go figure.
I once enjoyed a brief stay in a police car during a simple license check, because the 'dispatcher' told the officer that my License number/SSN came back as belonging to a 6'2" 210 lb. black dude from NC. Seeing as how I was a 5'6", 137 lb. white guy from VA, it raised a flag with the officer, who 'suggested' that I sit in his car while they ran further checks. Luckily, I had a few pay stubs from a local employer in VA with me to back up my license info. After about 10 minutes, they got it all straightened out. I guess I'm just destined for a life of identity confusion. Eying over all of the gadgets in the police car entertained me, though. Too bad I couldn't play with anything. Police computers and shotguns ... so close and yet so far. :) Todd ----- Original Message ----- From: "cfhelp" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "CF-Community" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Monday, June 30, 2003 12:15 PM Subject: RE: Language Re: Windows SP4 > My last name is Eidson pronounced Edson.
