My last name is Eidson pronounced Edson. But everyone say's Edison or with a
long E or a Long I (IIDson or EEDson). I am so used to correcting people on
spelling and pronouncing it that I correct people when they actually get it
right.

To make it fun for my daughter I named her Brittney NOT Brittany. :)
She has never seen the Three Stooges, a Pop-Eye cartoon or the Cavity
Creeps.

hehe how old is she? With luck by the time she is at an age where it
matters, the kids won't know who Mr Ed is. I mean.... my son, who is a
bright wide-awake child, asked me the other day who Ringo Starr is. "One of
the Beatles," I told him. Blank look.

I was trying to think how you could mess up Paxton. Seems pretty hard; the
key factor seems to be a similar, common, name. He'll probably get called
Paxil later on though. I shortened my name to Dana in middle school; in
French the name sounds just like a chemical, maybe something similar to
glycerine.
