Heh, the thing that was a constant fear of mine growing up was that
while I was at school, there was an announcement of commie nukes on
their way, everyone was evacuated, but they didn't tell the school. All
this going through my head as I'm walking home from school through
"deserted" neighborhoods. Of course, the houses were only deserted
because everyone was still at work.

It's still fun though to go back and watch all those cold-war era sci-fi
flicks and read the soviet threat.
