<delurking once again>
I will be very happy to recieve my $800. I think it is a good idea,
and especially because it targets the people in MY socio-economic status.
This sounds selfish, but too bad. I'm tired of paying my 30+ percent every
payday and seeing nothing at tax time except another bill.
This is what I think should be done with the federal budget.
1. Leave the tax rate exactly the same. For now, this will be
lowered.
2. Remove EVERY spending measure in the budget.
3. Figuire out exactly how many dollars comes into the federal
coffers from everyone.
4. Budget 20% for national defense
5. Budget 20% for social programs (medicine, arts ect.)
6. Budget 20% for infrastructure (highways, parks)
7. Budget 20% for state spending (block grants, ect)
8. Lower the tax rate by 20%.
9. Every year recalculate the new amount earned and adjust.

yeah but it isnt enough money to fund the large purchases that really would
get the economy moving. It's just a huge drain on the treasury that is
ill-designed to perform its stated politically correct purpose, yet enough
to buy a few votes. IMHO.
