Is it worse on some days but not others (specifically, is it worse on hot, muggy days)?

It sounds like (knowing nothing about your car or cars in general) there might be some
water or condensation in the gas line (probably between the fuel filter to the
carburetor.

Get some drygas (a fuel additive) and pour it into the gastank before the next long
drive.

Check the fuel lines for any obvious leaks. Really check where the line connects to
the fuel filter.

If this doesn't help at all, I'd agree with the vapor-lock diagnosis. Nissan's are
famous for it.

Give the insulation tip found here a try

I think that the problem will start to go away as you near winter.

> Does the car turn over (rurr, rurr, rurrrrrrr) and then stop?
Yes but it never starts.

> Does it not turn over at all (click, click)
nope

> Does it start, but sputter and die? (prrr, cough, prrr, cough, cough,
COUGH)
Only if I try to start it to soon. Then I may have to wait another 10 min or
so.

> Is it _every time_, or only after running for a while?
It's only after I have driven it for a little while.

> How long has it been happening? Were there other symptoms leading up to
this, or did it start all of a sudden?
It really started this summer. There hasn't been any other real problems
with it besides this.
