I would say it is a sad remark about the economy more than a personal failure on anyone's part. Some people have encountered serious hardships since committing to the project and are unable to contribute through no fault of their own. I have spoken with four people since Friday about why they were unable to fulfill their commitment and can tell you there are good reasons why they haven't sent anything.
One important note, and this is not directed at anyone in particular - people's situations change rapidly. The reason we are committing to doing this is that we want to help a friend in need. Any finger pointing, second guessing, or act that would cause this project to degenerate into something else would be quite inappropriate. We can always just send Michael some cash for a new machine as an alternative, and that requires zero acrimony. It just takes an agreement on how to handle things, so that this effort will have the desired result. M > -----Original Message----- > From: Larry C.
