There were plenty of pieces of the plane found. Including the engines. And there was a video taken of the aircraft hitting the Pentagon.
The reason why there was no large hole as Pacificar alleged was that the plane hit the ground a short distance from Wedge 5 then slid into the building the rest of the way.
