with that capability? I've been kicking around the idea of firing up
the ol' Dremel and converting an old lightning-fried Mac SE into a
full-bore PC... pulling out the guts, widening the disk drive mouth for
a slot-loading DVD drive and replacing the 9" screen with an LCD... and
probably mounting the works vertically so I can put in enough silicon to
be able to cart it around to LAN parties.
I think there's plenty of room inside, but the thing that seals the deal
for me is the ability for the mobo to sound the Mac "chime" when it
boots up. I was investigating soldering an IC chip and a piezo speaker
into the works, but if there's something that will do it natively,
that'll be perfect.
