when they first put out the Quicktime 4 player (I believe, don't quote
me, could have been an earlier version), they had this hideous "thumb
wheel" volume control that never worked right, and whipped up a fair
amount of bitching amongst regular users and amateur Jakob Nielsens
until they got rid of it in the next release.
Personally, I haven't had any problems with iTunes for Windows - it's
friendly with my CD burner and I don't mind the reorganization at all -
if anything, it actually helped, but I'm not a particularly careful
filer, so a little forced organization doesn't hurt.
I'm a Mac-head, so the interface isn't that unintuitive to me, but
looking at it from a Windows-user standpoint, I expect to be able to get
a "Rip CD" or like command from the "Edit" or "Controls" menu, which I
don't get, and it can be a little confusing at first.
