Yea the fun of living on the ocean as a kid. We're get this extra snow
that was pretty but it was not as cold so it would always melt, while 20
minutes over in Salisbury there would be so much snow they would be out
of school for 3 days and we would only get like half a day or something.

But it was fun seeing the ocean freeze a couple times very nice site.
Was fun seeing the retard who drove his truck onto the ocean too and it
gave way. ;)

Large bodies of water act as giant heat sinks. They can dramatically
cool
moisture laden air causing more snow in the vicinity. But since they
also
retain their temperature, they also act as a source of moisture to
replenish
the water vapor in the air. It's pretty common to see a haze of
evaporation
fog caused by the cool air moving over the warmer body of water. Also,
it's
pretty common knowledge (though I don't know the exact physics) that it
can't snow if it's too cold, so the lakes/oceans keep the temp up near
freezing or so, allowing for snow. But while there's more snow, the
temps
are also generally not as low as inland.
