Well...
That depends on you.
For kids on a PII, The Gameboy Advanced Emulator would be a dream come
true. Gameboy Advances games are lots of fun to play, and some of them
such as Final Fantasy Tactics I've found to be truly engrossing, capable
of taking up hours of my time.
The Visual Boy Advanced emulator is the best I've discovered.
Which leaves the question of where to get games to play on it.
You can purchase a Flash Linker and an actual Gameboy Advanced, then use
the Linker to copy the game cartridges which you purchase to a .rom file
on your PC which can be used by the Emulator on whatever computer you
like.
Or...you can download the Roms online, and purchase the game from the
store, thus taking care of copyright issues.
Games from the era of the PII would probably be near impossible to get
nowadays. However you could check Abandonware (google it :) ) websites
that carry older games that can be downloaded for free. Perhaps even
classics such as Kings Quest series, Space Quest series and others might
be available.
