Unfortunately, the exercise bike HURTS with the bad hip.
Trying to still do it regularly for heart health and for muscle tone prior to the hip replacement surgery.
Have switched from deadly "breakfast sandwich" starter to stuff like oatmeal, blueberry bran muffins, nonfat yogurt.
Lot more whole grains, incl. whole wheat pasta.
A lot less red meat. More fish (which I love anyway).
Less fried, more baked or broiled.
More soy; e.g. Morningstar Farms "chicken" nuggets and "sausage" (both quite good!), Boca Burgers, Edamame.
More monounsaturated fats: avocado, canola oil, olive oil.
A lot less fast food.
Stuff like Chinese food buffet as a once-in-a-while special treat, not habit.
Am by no means perfect, just trying to be "better".
Seems to be working & I feel a lot better.
Thanks for asking!
