This reminds me of a Family Guy episode.....I dont remember the exact words,
but it's something like

Peter:  Christmas is about the ghost of Jesus that comes to suck your blood,
so we must offer ourselves to him so he will stay in his manger
Person1:  I find that very offensive!!  I'm going to do something about
this!
Person2:  Uhhh, but you CAN'T do anything about it.
Person1:  Oh.  Well, I guess I'll just go develop a sense of humour.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Again, it all comes back to the South Park Christmas special where they
remove anything that anyone in the audience finds even remotely offensive.
The kids end up putting on a show where they are in white leotards, and
chanting some bizzare song on an empty stage. The parents are like what
the
  hell is this crap? Exactly.

There's this notion of privilege. You may have heard of it. Essentially,
it's the idea that people in the majority class are so accustomed to the
privileges that they have that they're not even aware of them. Your belief
that copious use of a derogatory term turns it into anything other than a
derogatory term is a good example of privilege run amuck. Because you're
in
the majority position (where the term holds little emotional weight) you
feel entitled to use it. Those in the minority position (where the term is
  quite caustic) would disagree.

So, yes, I find your use of the term offensive and would prefer that you
not
use it on the list. However, since this is a free country and all, I can't
really stop you from using it. I can, however, form opinions about your
character based on the words you choose to use.
