Please remember that when I wrote that I had heard it from Shawn Hannity, then I found the newspaper article just a while ago.

2-year olds? The only mention in the story has a father playing tennis outside. Very dumb, possibly material for child protective services,  but not gone for 8 hours, either. There are some grey areas here. My daughter is allowed to go to our local library when she wants and stay as long as she wants. But she is 11... Five is too young to be there without a parent. The eight yo is very border line and definitely not old enough to be responsible for a 5yo sibling.  Sounds to me like a random collection of horror stories strung together. Possibly each true, but still.

On the other side of the coin, I once dropped my son off at a McDonalds and told him to buy us burgers while I picked his sister up at babysitter's around the corner. I used the rest room and was going out the door when some employee came bustling up to me and told me that they were not a day care. My son was still in line, a long line at that. Oh and he was 12 at the time....In that instance I took my son and my money and we bought tacos instead. I called the manager the next day and told him his employee's attentions were better directed to serving customers than to second-guessing their intentions. I was really very insulted.

  > Actually, I just found the newspaper article he was reading.  I think
