That is pure and utter crap. The judge did not pay attention to any of the medical evidence. What is in that body is not Terry Shaivo, rather its a bundle of reflexes and autonomous nervous system circuits. The medicial evidence is quite clear, much of her cerebral cortex (the part of the brain which makes up human, and allows us to think) has atrophied to the point that its slightly better than mush. What was decided by the court, (and I sincerely hope that its overturned shortly) was a travesty and essentially a cruel action. That poor shell of what was once a person should be given surcease.
