The persistent efforts to keep anything so subhuman alive is so indicative of
the attitudes of the religious right/conservative republican types it is almost
ludicrous, if it were not so tragic what they seek to impose on others who
suffer the vegetative state.
These are usually the same neo-Christians who have re-written the scripture
definition of human life, and likewise persist in the misguided claim that human
life begins at conception, instead of at the moment of the "breath of life" as
is taught by their own doctrine.
They continue to bathe themselves in ignorance and self righteousness, never
once realizing until it is too late that they themselves are among the
condemned.
Pray for them. so that they will someday realize that true freedom FROM religion
is what the US Constitution really promises and that secular law should not
include any of their narrow so-called religious beliefs or subscription. They
are free to follow any faith they want, but it is inherently illegal to impose
that upon others who have the freedom to choose not to follow them.
