So I went to BestBuy Saturday and picked out a monitor after agonizing
for an hour. I went with the Sony 19" that was a display model (they
knocked of some $$) and went way over the budget I had originally
intended. So when I get home I am excited as heck to get the thing
plugged in and try it out.

Shut down the puter, remove my CRT, plug the newbie in. Turn on
computer. Mouse and keyboard do not respond. Ok. Restart.

OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

When starting up I get some crazy WINNT/System32/Config/SystemCED is
corrupt or missing.

Ok, so I start it up in safe mode, try to do a little DOS to see if I
can replace the file from my Win2K CD. NOPERS.

Start getting a little panicky. Call my buddy who is a PC tech to see
if there's a way to save my files. Nopers.

Get an idea to google the problem. Drive in to work to use my PC. FIND
A TECHNOTE from M$ that says my system hive is too large (?).

Go back home, do what the technote says to do. Restart. AHA! She
starts! But wait. All of my peripherals, including my NIC, CD Burner,
etc. have to be reinstalled. After another 2 hours of reinstalling
everything, scanning for viruses, and making a backup to my EXT HD, I am
happy to say that I love my new monitor....

BTW, Gel, I ordered the VideoCard you suggested.
