This means no raises. They are still hiring new employees with seeming
regularity for positions not essential(in many peoples opinions) for the day
to day operation of the company.
I dont know if, in the current job market that this is a strategy by the
owners to keep more money in the company and for themselves, and to
basically tell all the employees to like it or leave it. Mind you, they have
never said this as far as I can tell. But it makes sense to me.
I have no reason to believe that me not getting a raise is a reflection on
my performance and abilities, as the reviews of my performance have always
been great, and my boss seems like a pretty stand up guy. So I think if
there was a problem with me, that he would have said something.
It just irks me that we have money to hire a benefits administrator for HR,
another receptionist and throw a lavish holiday party but cannot step up and
do what's right.
Of course the whole basis of my rant is the fact that I believe that if you
are a good employee then you should be rewarded at least anually with a
performance based increase. How many of you think similarly? Do people in
other countries get regular increases? I know, people in the US make alot of
money, and alot of jobs are being farmed overseas and I should just shut up
about the whole thing, but I cant help but feel that the only way I can tell
if the company really values my contribution to their bottom line is to
contribute more to mine. Anyone else feel this way?
