multiple installations which, of course would not be practical.
There are a number of hosting packages available for the Linux platform, most
are open source, however on Windows servers, the solutions are usually pretty
hefty in price, which could take one out of competition in hosting pricing, I
would imagine. On my Linux systems I use Webmin/Usermin which seems to do the
job well. I don't have any selected at the moment for the Windows platform.
With hardware pricing what they are, it is usually less expensive to add a box,
rather than to load up one server with mega sites and hefty priced software. The
result that in our environment, the client has access to a very lightly loaded
server and usually gets better performance.
The Helms app seems to be pretty comprehensive, however, I think they need to
look at the new currency exchange rates which should make the US dollar much
more competitive.

Yes I am currently looking at FarCry now as our new CMS... but I did not
know that it could be used as a hosting management system. Did I miss
something in the documentation?...

Hi Guys...
I am looking for some type of web hosting software packaged that can help
us
manage and set up new sites easily, similar to what a hosting company
would
use. We have several hundred websites and its getting crazy to manage them
all. Also we are looking for the ability to have shared hosting where we
can
have multiple domains using the same IP address. We also have a system
that
is template driven for our agents, each agent has their own domain name
and
dynamic website, we have about 5000 thousand active agents and about 15
thousand total and Most all of these agents have a domain name that points
to our DNS servers. We really need a way to manage these.
Well hopefully I made sense above... any idea as to where to start with
this?
Thanks
Neal Bailey
