during the month of September 2003, and the atrocities were supposed to have
taken place during September through December, and Rumsfiled's testimony before
Congress he admitted he knew about the complaints in January. Supposedly the
investigation started then, but no action of any kind was taken against anyone
until the photos were released and publicized in May 2004. And he has the gall
to state that the worst is yet to come.
To me not only should Rumsfield resign, but the entire Joint Chiefs should be
placed under Courts Marshal as well. It won't happen, of course, because just a
few low level enlisted will be tossed to the Lions. Did anyone notice that the
MPs serving as guards were actually Policemen in private life?
I think they were under orders. I also think that this does not excuse them.
But not everyone has the backbone to stand up to authority. I am more concerned
with the oft-repeated mantra on the networks that this represents the actions of
a few.
