Solaris would be a much better OS than, with oh say sun one as the J2EE and
web server.  Or Apache and tomcat.

  Thank you, that is an interesting argument.  Security is very important
here, we are talking about web applications that access HIPPA medical data.
Eventually we will want outside users (donors) to be able to access and use
their own data.  When this happens security will be of prime importance.  I
don't suppose you can point to any references to support this argument?
