Weren't they supposed to be coming out with something to run on bsd?  For
their ECMA certification or whatever?

Did that ever happen?

  Oops, forgot to add

  .NET has to run on IIS - the most hacked web server in the history of
  the Internet - you need somebody to work almost full time on the server
  to keep it patched and 100% up-to-date

  Unless you find a decent host who will do the patches for you, but then
  you pay more for them
