yes for POSTING jobs the list owner has stated this before there
are other lists that you can discuss, people who join it expect
ONLY to see job postings etc. not to be bombarded with discussion...
I will end up having to remove myself from a good list because
of this, I can't have all this stuff coming thru dont have time
to weed thru the OFF SUBJECT stuff to read the REAL posts.

What is so bad about this thread? This is a jobs list, isn't it? It
is
not like this thread is so far off the scope of the list that it
should be
tiresome to the list members. Now if this was like the "Kill the
President" thread from CF-Talk this morning, then I could understand.
 I
for one am glad this thread started up and was able to see how others
address this issue. Most of the work that I have done and am doing is
intranet work that can not be seen from the "real world" In the
past I
have provided code examples at the time of interviewing, but now have
seen
a couple of ideas that I had not thought of in the past.

If you want something to die on a mailing list, just don't reply to
it. Feeding it just adds more traffic, I probably would not have
even commented on this thread. However since I did learn something
from
it and am glad it happened, I decided I might as well say something
before
everyone involved thought their comments just went to waste.
