This may sound cynical, but I suspect the vast majority of employers, hiring managers, etc. don't know about lists like this and local user groups. I have talked to quite a few recruiters from contract firms and end employers who mumble "oh?" when I tell them that there is a local user group, job board, etc.
Granted there are quite a few employers that frequent this list, but do you know about your own local resources? For every one of you, there are countless others with little technical training or experience calling themselves recruiters. Unfortunately, our job prospects hinge partially on them...we need to come to them using our own skills and not necessarily wait for employers to come to us. In light of this: I am looking for employment as a developer or business analyst in the Kansas City (USA) area.
