Nothing against Allaire, but I'm not sure I want them writing anything that
low-level!

Interestingly enough, there's nothing to stop you from using CF in that way
today. There are COM interfaces for some real-time management tools, which I
suspect you could automate through CF. Low-level device programming is
pretty far outside the scope of what Allaire does, and considering the
history of CFHTTP, CFMAIL, etc (which are high-level interfaces) I'd be
reluctant to have them tinkering with my server's USB port.

I've got an idea - Advanced Security for Linux! I'd just love to throw the
Solaris boxes out the window. I'd like to see something to use in place of
Netegrity on Linux, since I'm not a big Netegrity fan anyway.
