here's another idea for you.....
I think one of the next areas of web applications in the next few years
will be servers in people's homes. I think Linux and a super cheap
version of CF is the right choice for this. Basically the server would
literally be built into some closet in your house.
Anyway, there is a tag on the taggallery called <cfx_X10> it interacts
with the serial port to send commands to turn lights on and off, along
with lots of other electrical devices. With CF on the server in your
house, you could build a secured site to see if you left the stove on or
left lights on when you leave for vacation.
Maybe if you could build some serial port or USB tags, that send some
sort of universal commands to these devices you could get the home
server market cranking.
plus... that's just cool :)
