Update: I just tried creating a new datasource to a previously unused database on the new server, and it is failing verification, but if I change a current datasource to the new database name and server it verifies just fine. Aha! it only looks like it changed... it evidently didn't even change to the new server or the new database name - it couldn't have, it is still showing information from the old datasource on that dsn. this sucks!
