No, you can't set everything within Application.cfm, but this doesn't mean
that you can't support many development projects on a single CF server,
whether under Solaris or Windows.
Typically, for a given application, you might create a datasource for it,
and perhaps a mapping (although this isn't strictly necessary). You only get
one set of global logfiles, but you can have external application-specific
logs using CFERROR TYPE="monitor" in Application.cfm, or with CF 5 you can
use CFLOG to write specific information to specific files.
We've got servers with 20+ development projects, and they're no real trouble
to support. The only real problem is that if one developer writes bad code,
you'll have to cycle the service for everybody.
