Another thing to try (if getting to the Linux partition isn't what you want to do right now) is boot from a recovery disk or boot disk with FDisk on it. Then restore the Master boot Record of your hard drive. You do this by running: fdisk /mbr from your floppy drive. This might not work for a Win 2000 machine, but it's worth a shot.
