I'm not familiar with lnx4win... However, having destroyed more than my fair share of harddrives (You try booting 4 OSes on a HP laptop!) I can maybe help...
#1: Did you install linux on the 1st or second partition? #2: If you did it on the first, good luck, I've never been able to recover that #3: If you did it on the second, I'd seriously try installing redhat 7.2, Why? because, inside anaconda (thier installer) the dual booting code is much more robust. It should be able to detect the bootable flag on partition 1. #4: Use Fdisk to make sure that disk 1 is set to bootable. try reinstalling mandrake #5: Check google (google.com) to check and se if anyone has run into the same problem. ======================== Jesse Noller Linux Fiend Macromedia Server Development [EMAIL PROTECTED] [root@spidermonkey]$ chown -R us:us *yourbase find / -name '*yourbase*' | xargs chown us:us > -----Original Message----- > From: Joshua Miller [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: Monday, December 17, 2001 10:26 AM > To: CF-Linux > Subject: OT: Linux ate my hard drive! > > > Sorry for the extremely OT post, but I'm stuck and have > received no word > back from Mandrake support and of course there's no number > you can call for > technical issues.
