Ah, thank you very much.  For some reason I got it in my head that MyODBC was 
a Windows thing *shakes head*

I ended up physically changing the /opt/coldfusion/odbc/odbc.ini to
Driver=/usr/local/lib/libmyodbc-2.50.38.so
from
Driver=/opt/coldfusion/lib/CFmysql15.so

..

Any way to add this to the dropdown in the CFAdmin?
