Please correct me if I'm wrong, but CF Express 4.5 was *not* a single-IP =
server.  It was basically ColdFusion Server with some tags and functions =
removed.  Very handy for non-profit organizations (like mine).  Not to =
mention, if you are producing software for a free, open-license enrivonment=
(i.e. Linux), it would be a good idea to provide, even if a toned down =
version, some sort of free product that can be utilized (and not just =
single-IP).  Allaire had the right idea...  did all the Allaire people get =
laid off when Macromedia acquired them?

I second that... sometimes it's VERY hard to convince clients that
ColdFusion is an appropriate technology for anything. I even had one client
pull a project because they heard CF was "old school"! With CF Express, we
can develop AND DEPLOY simple applications to show them that the technology
is WORTH BUYING without having to use a 30 day trial! For those of us out
in the trenches, this was a very important piece of the ColdFusion product
line!

Jesse, can you forward this thread to people who might care?

You are both correct, (SOrry, I've been MIA with a cold) CFExpress was a chopped down version of CF that was freely available. In fact, that is the version we shipped on the Red Hat LACDs. Now, as for providing a CFMX version of that, that is an interesting question. I will forward your inquiries to product management.

We did encorporate a much of CFStudio into Dreamweaver MX, but we also include HomeSite+ (which is essentially a CMFX updated version of CFS5) as a standalone app that comes with the purchase of DWMX Win. Unfortunately, there's no trial version of HomeSite+, it only comes with purchase of DWMX Win.

Got it!

Part of the problem was I was typing the entire line "hkey_local ... uuidtoken:1" when I should have been just entering the uuid part under the existing key entry.

Also, maybe I had to delete and re-create the client variables storage reference to the database.  That ended up happening for other reasons, but I'd have to go back and re-do everything to confirm and I didn't want to spend the time.

many thanks,
Chris Norloff
