Upgrading to a new webserver and not having good luck with CF5 and redhat
7.3.

Our old box was redhat 7.1 and was rock solid - Does CF5 have problems =
with
7.3?

What is the best distro for CF5?

Doug - does Verity work for you? i had thought one reason that CFMX=20
isn't supported on 7.3 was because Verity doesn't work on 7.3.

Tim - i know you're asking about CF5, but just as an fyi - CFMX is=20
only supported through RH 7.2 so i'd imagine that CF5 is similar - if=20
not even earlier.

Tim, don't really know what you meant by "not having good luck with
CF5 and redhat 7.3". Did CF5 run at all on your new machine? Were
there any problems when installing it? I had the same problem when I
switched to RH7.2. Found out that it was caused by the CF Apache
module. Recompiling the module from the source provided solved the
problem. Check out
http://www.macromedia.com/v1/Handlers/index.cfm?ID=16300&Method=Full
and see whether that helps.

this might not be the answer, but what version of apache are you
running? You might need a different mod_coldfusion.so for an eapi
compliant apache compile.

Morning/Afternoon guys...

Just a quick intro. Stephen Moretti here. I'm the manager of the
Northern UK CFUG. I've been working with CF since the tail end of version
2/start of version 3. I'm subscribed to far to many CF mailing lists, so
you've probably seen me around....

Mostly I've been windows based (sorry I said a bad word ;o) ), but of late
I've been moving more towards *nix servers, so here I am. :oD

Anyway, on with the question....

CF5 on Solaris, apparently it doesn't install a driver for mySQL (unlike
Linux). I am aware of myODBC, but my client wants to use production ready
drivers (which 3.5x isn't) and there seems to be some problems with setting
up/using the 2.50 drivers. Does anyone have any suggestions, comments,
recommendations on drivers for mySQL on solaris?

TIA

Regards

Stephen

Does no one use solaris and mySQL??

Anyone from MM got any comments/suggestions??
