I think we're getting very close here. I've just noticed something else that pin points the cause.
I have a cron job that requests a url (this is a substitue for a scheduled task) at 2 am everyday. The url is a verity indexing page that generally takes a fair while to run. I have noticed that every time the problem that brought me to this board occurs it begins at 2am - don't know why it took me this long to work that out but.... The verity indexer is generally running for 100 - 115 seconds on the days when the server starts crashing there is no log record for the verity index running longer than 30secs. The other thing worth mentioning is that I have timeout requests after 120 seconds set up in the administrator. It seems that if a request runs longer than this timeout period the server begins rebooting itself every 30 secs until the mail directories are cleared up. I have now added a requesttimeout to the verity index cron job - hopefully this should resolve the issue. Jessica - I would be interested to see if the problem that you are encountering (reboots every 30 secs) can be matched up to long running pages. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/index.cfm?forumid=14 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/index.cfm?method=subscribe&forumid=14 Get the mailserver that powers this list at http://www.coolfusion.com Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.14
