Subject: AbleCommerce Opinions

We are presently looking to bring our eCommerce hosting inhouse. We are
evaluating AbleCommerce since it runs on CF which is our platform of choice
for development work.

1. What are then limitations of AbleCommerce that you have run into?

Not very many limitations. Especially if you own the source code you can do
anything you want with Able Commerce.

2. How well written is the code? Is it relatively easy to figure out how to
modify the code?

It is very tight code and everything is accessed from the database. I've
performed extensive modifications for the store and it fairly
straightforward to figure out.

3. Other comments on working with AbleCommerce

This is for a moderate size on-line store that will have continuous light
traffic for very specialized market. We want scalability but will have hits
in the 100's per day never in the millions.

Able Commerce will easily handle 100 of hits per day. I personally have a
littel AC store (magicstore.com) which receives around 200 visitors a day
using MS Access. It runs fine.

The store we are currently putting together is expecting thousands of users
per day. Their current PERL based store receives this many visitors now. We
have upsized them from MS Access to MS SQL 7.0, also very easy.
