I agree - you only need to look as far as Deja (ex DejaNews) and Remarq to see
that.
Problem is that a current full NNTP news feed requires about 8Mbs of dedicated
bandwidth, and to archive for anything like a worthwhile time - at least a
terrabyte of storage. Of course if one were to eliminate the UU-Encoded porn
and warez binaries and spam, that requirement would reduce by about 85% at
least, and leave the really useful informational stuff to archive.
